Name: Alena Vera Alkaev
Age: 19
Occupation Prior to Outbreak: Alena was pursuing her dream of being a professional dancer in Atlanta.
Equipment: A small messenger bag-style carrier containing only basic medical supplies, a bit of food and water, and a change of clothes.
Signature Weapon: A combat knife and a small pistol, which she only uses when absolutely necessary.
Portrayed by: Shelley Hennig
Personality: Though Alena is a very trustworthy companion, she had a huge issue with trusting those around her. After being let down by her father who was never around and showered her with money to try and make up for his absence, she learned at a young age that most people are out for only what they want. Her trust issues only worsened over time, and now that all hell has broken loose - she can barely bring herself to let anyone in. If it weren't for her trying to survive, she would continue on with flying solo, but things are obviously easier with allies. This doesn't mean she isn't polite and decent towards other people - she just isn't overly friendly and forgiving until they prove themselves to her that they aren't complete shitsticks.
Appearance: Professional dancers are required to be fit in every part of their body, so Alena is just that. She is strong for her size and quicker than nearly any dead or living enemy. Brown hair and eyes light up her face, and she stands at about 5'7" - weighing about 160 lbs.
History: Alena Alkaev was born and raised in Buckhead - one of the richest sub-cities of Atlanta. Her father was an incredibly wealthy businessman while her mother was an interior designer for some of the top executives around the city. Because of their incredibly busy careers, Alena didn't spend as much time with her parents as most children and mostly stayed in her room to play alone. Her mother was around during the evenings and some on the weekends, but her father came home maybe twice a month. He would always give her broken promises of taking her on trips with him, which initially led to her trust issues. It wasn't until she was thirteen that she realized why her father was always gone and why her mother always cried herself to sleep with a bottle of Merlot. Her father was cheating on her, but she wasn't strong enough to leave him and simply wallowed in self pity the whole time. Dying to get away, Alena moved out at the age of seventeen - just having graduated high school - and moved into her own apartment. Her dolls had kept her hope alive throughout her childhood, and all she wanted was to be a ballerina just like them. So, from then on out, she continued with her dance lessons and had just signed a contract with a major company about six months before the outbreak.
Strengths: Her physical strength is pretty good for her size but nothing too impressive. As for her stamina and cardiovascular fitness, Alena can outrun any foe and tries to use this method as opposed to killing zombie if she can help it. She is also incredibly rational, calm, and doesn't get loud very often - making her a rather stealthy being.
Weaknesses: Her trust issues will eventually bring her so close to meeting her demise that she nearly loses her marbles. She also has a hard time being mean to others, which could eventually lead her to get into some sort of trouble.
Goals: Alena wants to rebuild society somewhere far from the Atlanta area. Her memories of her childhood aren't anything to keep her tethered to the city, and she doesn't particularly care if her parents are alive or not. All she wants is a fresh start and a safe place to stay while she helps to rebuild a community.
