"Blood is really warm,
it's like drinking hot chocolate
but with more screaming."
What ever happened to corpses just lying down and being still, cold, and...well, dead? Now we have them running around like they just couldn't possibly fit any more physical activity into one day - or any human flesh for that matter. Have they lost their marbles in the after life? Do they not comprehend the fact that they are D-E-A-D?
It's been about three weeks since the initial outbreak, which manifested in the small town of Bartow, Georgia - located about a hundred miles east of Macon. Due to the mere population of two hundred and seventy-four people as recorded in 2012, word was not able to reach the bigger cities and the state capital until it was too late. The airborne virus had already plagued anyone who managed to breathe in the scent of the morning dew or even the foul smell of a garbage can left outside in the sun for too long. People in hospitals who were pronounced dead suddenly became active once again, even despite the fact that their heartbeat still flatlined on the monitors in which they were hooked up to. It seems everyone is infected with the virus but that it only comes into effect once the survivor is bitten or dies from natural causes. Only moments after death or a bite, they "turn" to haunt the streets and feast upon any poor sap who manages to come into their sights.
"Something coming back from the dead was almost always bad news. Movies taught me that. For every one Jesus you get a million zombies."
That was how it all started - three weeks ago. Now, the state and national governments have been completely shut down, access to other countries has been denied indefinitely, and the streets of the United States have been left in total chaos. Those who are supposed to be dead continue to move and crave flesh (perhaps it's because their own flesh is steadily rotting off them, but who knows). Everything is in a shitstorm of calamity, and those who are still alive must do everything in their power to hold onto this "life" that they now live.
This is where you come in! Think you have what it takes to battle zombies and survive the apocalypse? This story first begins in the medium-sized city of Columbus, Georgia - located ninety-four miles south of Atlanta. Your only objective is to stay alive, and though the roleplay begins in Columbus, you do not have to stay there. Feel free to send your character or your character's group to any place in the U.S. that you would prefer, but keep in mind that travel may be a bit of a bitch at this point. Make the roleplay what you will, and have fun!
